TOP GUN: MAVERICK MOVIE REVIEW

Top Gun: Maverick is a 2022 American action-drama film directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer, and Christopher McQuarrie based on Peter Craig and Justin Marks’ writings. This film is constructed by Paramount Pictures. This film is also the sequel to the 1986 film Top Gun. They keep the original cast from the previous film: Tom Cruise, Van Kilmer, and Jennifer Connelly. While the new cast consists of Miles Teller, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, and Ed Harris. This sequel is where Maverick, Tom Cruise confronts his past while preparing a squad of younger Top Gun graduates for a risky mission, including the son of his murdered closest comrade. It received several honors, including the Satellite Stunt Performance Award, the People's Choice Award for Favorite Action Movie, and others.

United States Navy Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is still a test pilot after graduating from Top Gun more than 30 years ago. Iceman rescues Maverick’s career again by assigning him to the Top Gun school at NAS North Island for his next assignment. However, instead of joining the strike, he will be training an exclusive cadre of Top Gun graduates formed by Air Boss Vice Admiral Beau. Maverick then re-encounters his previous girlfriend Penny Benjamin. After going through everything with Top Gun, they eventually arrive at the day that will determine whether or not they will survive.

When it comes to the plot, there is one iconic scene that stunned the whole cinema audience. If I mention this scene, many people would agree with me. It was even mentioned on many social media platforms such as TikTok. It was the beach volleyball scene. It was iconic and bewildering. The production also agrees about this and even made a 3-hour loop just this scene.

Next, I think Miles Teller who played Rooster Bradshaw did a great job of portraying his character. His character developed very well throughout the whole movie. From being angry about Maverick pulling out his Top Gun intake form to understanding why his dad would want to fly with Maverick and why Maverick did that action. From being a cold guy to being a fun guy. From flying slowly to flying at the same pace as others.

In addition, the songs they created for this sequel were amazing especially I Ain’t Worried by One Republic. That song was catchy and very suitable for the movie vibe.

To sum up, I would rate this movie a solid 8 out of 10. This movie is amazing but I expected more because I didn’t watch the previous Top Gun before watching this sequel. After I watched the previous Top Gun, I understand why and compared Top Gun: Maverick with Top Gun, both movies gave great impacts on the audience, air force, and stunts.

This song released as the lead single from his debut studio album called TRUE on June 17, 2013. In the making of this song included Avicii himself, Mike Eiinziger, and American soul singer Aloe Blacc. But everything does worth it because this song has been named as the highest charting dance track of the decade, sitting at No. 13 in the 100-strong list from the UK Singles Chart. It is the only song to crack the Billboard Decade-End without making the top 3 during any week. When I first listened to this song, I was still a child who understands nothing about the meaning of it. But I still remember how I would always enjoy and shake my head every time the song starts to play on the radio. But now that I'm about to turn 19, the meaning of this song seems a little bit deeper to me than ever before. This song is simply beautiful and...
